David Naiman, President and Chief Executive Officer

David is proud to lead an innovative, experienced and passionate team at Coreio. His day to day is typically focused on oversight of Coreio’s corporate functions, including finance, sales, marketing, strategic planning and corporate development—but like all of Coreio’s team members, his first priority is our clients.

Over almost 20 years working within and across the financial services industry, David has built a wealth of experience as a seasoned executive. His career has strongly focused on private equity, investment banking and capital markets, and he has developed unparalleled expertise on the evolving needs and requests of these unique business units.

Prior to leading the Coreio team, in 2013, David founded Wherewithal Partners, a niche investment firm established for the purpose of acquiring and growing niche-oriented cash-generative businesses in Canada.

David built his career across a number of financial services and professional advisory organizations. He has experience in private equity, as a member OPTrust Private Market Group’s Investment Committee, engaged in sourcing, structuring and underwriting c.C$450 million of investments across North America. He has also worked in investment banking with the Financial Sponsors Group at Bank of America, providing M&A and acquisition financing advice, and in business and corporate development at two internet-enabled service providers. David began his career at Arthur Andersen in their Assurance and Business Consulting divisions, focused on financial services companies and owner-managed enterprises.

David holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a B.Comm from the University of Toronto and a Chartered Accountant designation. He is active in the not-for-profit community and is a strong supporter of a number of children’s charities including a five-year stint on the Board of Directors of Centennial Infant and Child Centre from 2008 to 2012.

David is an avid golfer and traveler, and lives in Toronto with his wife and three children.

Rob Muroff, Chief Operating Officer

As our COO, Rob’s mandate is to keep Coreio synonymous with excellent client service, and to lead the evolution of our Client Delivery business. To help enable Coreio to continue to compete in an ever-changing landscape of IT service providers, Rob leverages 22 years of corporate and consultative IT experience and a passion for exceeding clients’ expectations.

Rob joined Coreio after spending 14 years building his career at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). While at RBC, Rob delivered several significant transformational IT initiatives across a wide variety of platforms including, most recently, the global migration to Windows 7 for 120,000 computer assets, Desktop Virtualization and Employee Mobility (BYOD). Rob was proud to be the Executive Chair of the Women in Technology & Operations Employee Resource Group at RBC, supporting the career development of women at the organization, as well as the former chair of the Green IT committee. He remains committed to mentoring and coaching.

Rob holds an MA in Urban Planning from Wayne State University and a BA in Geography from the University of Western Ontario. He has also completed the Executive Development Program at Queens University. A strong believer in the importance of community and charity, he is an active fundraiser for United Way, Jewish National Fund (JNF), Baycrest Hospital and One Family Fund.

In his downtime, Rob is a veteran of eleven marathons, including twice running the Boston Marathon, and loves to vacation in the wilderness of Northern Canada. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.

Stephen Baird, Chief Technology Officer

Stephen Baird, Coreio’s Chief Technology Officer, has an extensive 30+ year background in large complex companies heavily dependent on IT systems, particularly with two of the largest Canadian financial services companies, where he held numerous roles in the Infrastructure and Operations field.

Stephen’s success is founded on delivering reliable solutions with a focus on agility, consolidation and simplification. He is known for his ability to work with business units at all levels in the development of solutions to complex business problems. He enjoys developing and leading high performance teams which rapidly translate a vision into action. Among many accomplishments over his career, Stephen led the Systems Engineering teams at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), which was recognized by Gartner as providing top decile performance in both cost and quality measures when compared to peer North American financial organizations.

His background includes risk and information security, systems management, operations and operational improvements, project management, process assessment and road mapping, organizational change management, IT service management, and complex solution engineering and deployment.

An active member of the Porsche Club of America, in his off time Steve enjoys an occasional turn on the racetrack in his Porsche. He is also an avid cyclist and golfer. Steve and his wife reside in Burlington and have two children.

Steve Mifsud, Vice President, Technology Solutions

As Vice President, Technology Solutions, Steve leads a team that develops and delivers leading edge tooling and enablement solutions, especially leveraging ServiceNow.  Steve and his team drive compelling business transformation initiatives from strategic inception through to process/technology implementation.

Prior to joining Coreio in late 2016, Steve spent the prior 18 years in various senior Infrastructure and Operations roles, primarily at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). He is an expert in advising Senior Management in Strategic Implementation, Automation Opportunities, Lean Six Sigma, Asset Management & SACM Methodologies and ITIL Best Practices.  While at RBC, Steve deployed ServiceNow for Service Request and Asset Management, with over 800 catalogue items for more than 100,000 employees.

Steve is a past winner of the RBC Leo Award Winner (2016) – the highest honor an RBC employee can receive as part of their performance program.

Chris Vasquez, Service Delivery Executive, Advisory Services

Chris leads our Cloud and Hosting Advisory Services Practice.  Chris’ vision and expertise across the Cloud and Hosting domains assists Coreio’s Senior Leadership in establishing the strategic direction for comprehensive solution development and delivery, as well as client engagement. Through Chris’ familiarity with transformational technologies in complex IT environments and his deep understanding of agile and secure cloud platforms, Coreio provides a flexible, scalable and reliable service for our clients that can meet ever-changing business and technology needs.

Prior to joining Coreio in late 2016, Chris’ most recent role was Vice President of Operations at TD Bank Group (TD), leading a large team tasked with upgrading and streamlining TD’s 24/7 IT enterprise systems across a number of business units and geographies. Prior to TD, Chris built a long career at Fidelity Information Systems in the United States, eventually rising to the position of Senior Vice President. In that role, he oversaw all strategic technology centres and related command centre functions and was responsible for critical facilities infrastructure, systems administration and data centre power and floor space engineering.

Chris lives in downtown Toronto, and is passionate about travel.

Paul Gerics, Service Delivery Executive, Advisory Services

Paul leads our Security and IT Risk Advisory Services Practice. He has 35 years of industry experience with a proven record of strategic executive/senior leadership. He has consistently demonstrated success in the execution, delivery and operations of global IT Infrastructure, Information Security and IT Risk Management initiatives, with a strong focus on IT and Information Security/Risk Management. This breadth of experience allows Paul to truly understand and identify Client needs and challenges, and to provide the vision to build and deliver world-class solutions.

Prior to joining Coreio in October 2017, Paul was at Royal Bank of Canada for 28 years, most recently as Vice President, Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) Risk Management. Prior to that he was Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) & Vice President GTI Risk Management.

Paul and his wife live in Ancaster and have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren. He enjoys travelling, golf and volunteering at his church and local elementary school.
